Garrett Kim is a writer from North Carolina. He earned his M.F.A. in fiction writing from the University of Virginia where he taught writing and served as Editor-in-Chief of Meridian. He's received scholarships and fellowships from MacDowell, Art Farm Nebraska, CRIT, and The New York State Summer Writers' Institute. His writing can be found or is forthcoming in The Intercept, Booth, No Tokens, The Strand Literary Magazine, and others.

He’s currently working on his debut novel, We're Going to Sing for You, which follows two teenage K-pop stars who learn that their music is being used in a plot to reunify North and South Korea.

He lives with his two large dogs, Josie and Bobby.
